# IIFT 2017 Analysis | Expected Cutoff and What Next?

IIFT 2017 Exam was conducted today on December, 2017. In this article we bring to you the detailed IIFT 2017 Analysis and Expected Cutoff. Overall cutoff to get lower than last year, while Career Anna GK Courses continue awesome performance, with 14 out of 18 questions in IIFT GK section directly coming from our E Books.

## IIFT 2017 Analysis and Expected Cutoff

IIFT threw a major surprise with the former 4 sections getting divided into 6 separate sections. Performing across all 6 sections was required to clear sectional cut-offs.

There were 114 questions in the paper, divided into following sections.

• Quantitative Aptitude
• Verbal Ability
• RC
• Logical Reasoning
• DI
• General Knowledge

Overall Difficulty level of the paper was Moderate. LR sets were bit tricky, DI was easily doable – so strategy adopted in LR DI Section could have impacted the score. Similarly, RCs were easy and verbal ability was relatively tricky. So, going for RCs all out could have helped one to maximize the score. The level of the paper was similar to the IIFT Mocks provided by us and no major deviation was there either in distribution of questions or difficulty level (except the fact that we stuck to sub sections trend, while this year had 6 separate sections).

And once again we continued with good strike rate in GK Section of MBA Entrance exams; with out of 18 GK Questions, 14 were from Career Anna IIFT GK Study Material.

Quantitative Aptitude

There were 20 Questions in the section, with 1 mark each. Overall level of the section was easy, with topic wise distribution being:

• Algebra – 2
• Arithmetic – 9
• Geometry – 4
• Set Theory – 1
• Numbers – 1
• Logarithm – 1

Good attempt in the section will be 13 – 15 Questions for students with strong quant, 10-12 an ideal attempt for every one.

Sectional cutoff is expected to be around 4.25 to 4.75 marks for the section.

Verbal Ability

There were 20 questions in the section, with each question carrying 1 mark and negative of 0.33

Level of the section was moderate to difficult.

Good attempt in the section will be 12 – 15 Questions for students with strong verbal.

Sectional cutoff is expected to be around 3 to 4 marks for the section.

RC

There were 16 Questions on RC (1 mark each). Overall level of the section was easy to moderate. RC Passages were lengthy as expected, however the questions from the passages were pretty direct.

Good attempt in the section will be 10 – 12 Questions for students with strong verbal.

Sectional cutoff is expected to be around 3.5 to 4 marks for the section.

Logical Reasoning

There were 20 Questions on LR (1 marks each). LR was moderate in difficulty level.

Good attempt in the section will be 13 – 15 Questions for students with strong LR.

Sectional cutoff is expected to be around 3 to 4 marks for the section.

DI

Good attempt in the section will be 11 – 24 Questions for students with strong DI.

Sectional cutoff is expected to be around 1.25 to 1.75 marks for the section.

General Knowledge

There were 18 Questions in GK, with each carrying 0.5 marks. Overall level of the section was moderate to difficult. Highest number of questions were from Business and Economy, followed by Current Affairs and then by other topics like Sports etc.

Ideal attempt in GK will be 11 to 14 questions for someone who studied our material, while would be 6 to 10 questions for a normal student.

And keeping up our record, this year we had 14 out of 18 questions from our IIFT GK Material. Only 4 questions which were not from our GK Material were Soulmate music band, Indian English Language newspaper, London based group founded in 2010 and Highest individual women’s one day scorer.
