Admission Procedure of JBIMS
Admission to the flagship course MMS is through a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) every year.
Admission process is a 3 tier process and generally starts off in January. 3 tiers of the selection process are:
- Shortlisting based on Common Admission Test (CAT, CMAT or any other entrance exam accepted by DTE)
- Group Discussion
- Personal Interview
However, for final selection even score of 10th, 12th and work experience is taken into account though the weightage given is quite low as compared to few IIMs.
JBIMS accepts CMAT score of September of the preceding year or February of the same year, or best of the two. For example: Admission for 2014-16 Batch will take into account CMAT September 2013 score as well as CMAT February 2014 score.
Here goes the break up assuming you apply through CMAT in JBIMS:
From above distribution, we may see that if one has scored high in CMAT, then even if 10th, 12th, work experience and performance in GDPI is not at par, one still has very strong chance of converting JBIMS call.
Institute also considers nationality, domicile etc. as parameters while rolling out shortlists for GDPI as well as during final selections.
Breakup of seats depending on domicile in JBIMS is as follows:
