  • Sectional CAT 2019 Cutoff score needed will be 70 percentile for general category

Step 1: Initial Screening

This screening is based on CAT 2019 Score, keeping both sectional and overall cutoff scores in mind.

Step 2: Calculation of Application Rating (AR)

For those who clear initial screening, AR is calculated based on marks in class 10th, 12th, Graduation Marks and Work Experience. 

Application rating is arrived as the Sum of score obtained basis above 4 parameters. 

Step 3: Calculation of Composite Score

Composite score is calculated as weighted average of CAT Score and Application Rating. 

Composite Score = 0.65 (CAT Score) + 0.35 (Application Rating)

Based on the above Composite Score, applicants are shortlisted and called for WAT and PI round. 

Wild Card Entry to WAT PI Round

IIM Ahmedabad will also call top 5% of applicants from every academic background directly for WAT and PI Round, irrespective of their composite score. These academic backgrounds are divided into 5 categories as shown below for being eligible for wild card entry.

Step 4: Final Selection after WAT and PI

Personal Interview performance has the highest weightage when it comes to final selection at IIM Ahmedabad. 

Final Composite Score = 0.5 (Personal Interview) + 0.1 (WAT) + 0.25 (CAT Score) + 0.15 (Application Rating)

Based on the Final Composite Score, students will get final admission offer in IIM Ahmedabad for MBA 2020-22 batch.
