IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019 season has begun! The IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019, Cluster 2 for its PGP-FABM Programme was successfully completed on February 11, 2019. Notably, CK Birla made the maximum number of offers, 10 offers, in IIM Ahmedabad’s 2-year flagship programme. Aditya Birla Group, Flipkart and Samsung followed with 9 offers each. Around 30 companies participated in FABM Placements in IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019.

Notably, IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019 Report does not disclose the salary package figures until it completes its audit in the months of August-September respectively.

Cluster 2 of the Final Placements 2019 saw diversity in roles. The General Management firms offered leadership roles in Conglomerates across geographies, closely followed by Consumer Goods firms.

  • IIM Ahmedabad Final Placement Process for the PGP-FABM (Post-Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management) for the batch of 2017-19 was conducted on February 11, 2019.
  • Domains for IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019, Cluster 2, included FMCG, Agri Inputs and Services, Food Processing and Supply Chain, Food and Agribusiness PE-VC, Food and Agri Consulting, Agri Commodity Trading, e-Commerce, and Retail.
  • Top recruiters included CK Birla Group with 10 offers (including pre-placement offers) besides several offline and online retail players and agri-focused companies.
  • Aditya Birla Group, Flipkart and Samsung were close on heels with 9 offers each.
  • Godrej Agrovet, PI Industries, Jain Irrigation, Pioneering Ventures, Ninjacart and Waycool extended 3 offers each.
  • First-time recruiters included Ernst and Young (EY), RBL Bank and Reliance Foundation.
  • Rabobank and INI Farms re-engaged for IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019, Cluster 2.

IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2019: The Cluster Approach

The Indian Institute of Management, established on December 11, 1961, is one of the top management institutes in the country. It is the second management institute to be established after IIM Calcutta and ranks among the best B-schools in both India and the Asia-Pacific region. IIM Ahmedabad, a public business school, offers Post-Graduate Diploma programmes in Management and Agri-business Management, a fellowship programme and a variety of executive training programmes.

IIM Ahmedabad has a Cluster-based approach for the final placements, where companies offering similar job profiles and positions are grouped into cohorts, which are then invited to the campus in particular clusters.

Notably, this year there are 3 Clusters held on February 8, 11 and 14 respectively. IIM Ahmedabad, however, has stated that if need be, it will follow a Rolling Process post Cluster 3 as well.

Cluster 1

It comprised of 5 cohorts. Saw other regular recruiters namely A.T. Kearney, Bain & Co., Goldman Sachs, HSBC, McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, and Oliver Wyman, among others. 

Cluster 2 

It comprised of 6 cohorts. 30 companies participated in the FABM Placements. As per an IIM-A official, Advertising & Media, Consumer Goods, Consumer Services, Consumer Electronics, General Management and Leadership and Retail B2B & B2C. Regular recruiters in included Asian Paints, HUL, General Mills, ITC, Mondeléz, Nestlé, P&G, KPMG, Mahindra, Reliance, Amazon and Myntra among others.

Will be conducted on February 14, 2019.

Notably, The cluster-cohort system is unique to IIM Ahmedabad. The Cluster system is meant to motivate students to consider career choices based on role and sector.

There is also a Dream Applications Programme at IIM Ahmedabad, which allows a student to sit for 5 more companies post securing an offer. The cluster-cohort system has also enabled hosting of recruiters in a fair and transparent manner leading to stronger relationships between IIM Ahmedabad and the recruiter community.

IIM Calcutta Placements 2019, IIM Lucknow Placements 2019, IIM Kozhikode Placements 2019

IIM Calcutta Placements 2019 were held on February 11, 2019 for its 54th batch of PGP Class 2019. It completed its Final Placements 2019 in just one day and saw 100% Placements.

441 students participated and bagged 501 offers from top recruiters. Average Salary rose to Rs. 25.36 lakhs. Consulting domain claimed highest share in recruitment with 29% placement, followed by Finance with 21% share.

Accenture has turned out to be the largest recruiter with 24 offers. IIM Calcutta has not shared the highest salary package for PGP 2017-19 batch. Highest Salary for 2017 at IIM Calcutta was Rs.75 lakhs.

IIM Lucknow Placements 2019 registered 100% Final Placements 2019 for its 33rd batch of 460 students within 3 days. The recruitment drive reportedly had over 147 international and domestic recruiters. 

The top segments based on roles offered were Consulting (32%), General Management (14%), Finance (16%), Sales and Marketing (16%), E-commerce (15%) and Systems/IT (10%).

Accenture, Deloitte and Boston Consulting Group were the top 3 recruiters. 

IIM Kozhikode Placements 2019 also saw 100% Final Placements 2019 with a 16% increase in both the mean and median salary. Average Annual CTC exceeded 20 lakhs, which was 13% more than last year.

Notably, in a batch of 373 students, IIM Kozhikode witnessed 366 students participating in the Final Placements 2019 process with 390 offers from 107 recruiters. However, 7 students chose to opt out of the process.

Major recruiters included Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, EY, Goldman Sachs, HUL, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Optum and PwC. 21 new recruiters included Bain & Co, Citrix, Exide, Everest Management Consulting, HSBC Securities, IQVIA, Of Business and State Street.
