SP Jain Mumbai Profile Based Shortlist

The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles.
They are also expected to meet the qualifying criteria in at least one of the entrance exams as indicated below:

Qualifying criteria CAT 2018 XAT 2019 GMAT (Tests taken between 1st January
2016 and 30th December 2018)
Overall Qualifying Score 85 percentile 85 percentile 650
Sectional Qualifying Score 70 percentile 70 percentile N.A.

Following factors are considered while rolling out Profile Based Shortlist. 

  • The consistency of academic record
  • The relevance of work experience for the specialization
  • Versatility & Achievements

You are evaluated against the current pool of applicants based on the above parameters. Hence, there is no guarantee that if you were given Profile based shortlist last year, you will be given this year as well. Or, if you were not given Profile based shortlist last year, you will not be called again this year. However, if you missed the chance in Profile based shortlist, you still stand a chance for Profile + Score based shortlist. 

How to Prepare for SP Jain Interview Process

SPJain Second Phase Process consists of 2 rounds: Both are the rounds of Group Interviews. 

Group Interview 1

Questions will be around just 3 questions if you prepare and answer them well; you are through – else you are rejected and denied a spot in 2nd Group Interview. Key to crack is having the high degree of Personalization in all the answers – Generic answers are rejected right away. These 3 Questions are: 

– Why MBA

– Why X Specialization (for which you have got the call)

– Why SPJIMR Mumbai 

You are required to answer only when asked these questions one on one. You should not be interfering in the answers of your group peers.

Group Interview 2

Here the scope of questions enhances multifold. Questions asked here include:

– Short-Term Career Goals

– Long-Term Career Goals

– Ethics

– Hobbies

– Extracurriculars and Achievements

– Leadership Questions

– Strengths and Weaknesses

– How you add value to the class of SPJIMR

– Minimal GK Based questions
