XAT 2018 exam was conducted on January 7, 2018. With all the Tech issues of XAT 2018 still being difficult to digest by many aspirants, we need to move on as authorities will not be cancelling the exam entirely. Verbal Ability and Reasoning

Section was moderate to difficult.

The section was dominated by Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. 2 para jumble questions were easy. Fill in the Blanks questions were difficult and Critical Reasoning questions were very difficult. 

15-17 attempts with 80% accuracy was a good attempt in the section.

Decision Making

The section was easy to moderate in difficulty level. The length of the caselets was shorter than usual. There were only three questions from Mathematical/Analytical Reasoning. There were 5 caselets with 3 questions each and 3 caselets with 2 questions each.

15-17 attempts with 90% accuracy was a good attempt in the section.

Quantitative Ability and DI

The section was slightly easier than last year’s. However, one of the DI sets was slightly tricky and hence can be said to be difficult. There were 17 questions of QA and 8 questions from DI. Majority of the questions from Arithmetic followed by Geometry. Geometry questions were difficult. 

There were 2 Data Sufficiency questions which were slightly complex as well.

18-20 attempts with 90% accuracy was a good attempt in the section.

General Knowledge

Difficulty level was slightly higher than last year. This section comprised 25 questions. The key areas from where the questions were asked were static GK (Economy, Geography, Science and Technology) and Current GK (Business economy, personalities, awards, sports and miscellaneous). Overall the difficulty level of the GK section lies in the “moderate-difficult” range. 

9-11 attempts with 100% accuracy was a good attempt in the section.
